Publisher's Description
This book contains twenty-seven photographs, one from each capital city in the expanding jigsaw puzzle of European member states. There was a time when I traveled through a string of capital cities with purposes other than photography in mind. However, I always had my latest infatuation - a plastic, Russian panorama toy camera with a rotating lens - in my pocket. And I like what I saw. So I started to plan other trips, and the collection grew.
These journeys took place at a time when the European Union was going through a period of soul searching. The expansion of the union to twenty-five, then twenty-seven member states, the debate on the failed constitution, the Turkish dilemma… But I had no agenda, no position on these matters to defend. I had no other purpose than to spend some time in each of these cities and press the shutter one in a while.
