North Light Press,
16 pp., 11 black & white illustrations, 7½x5¾".
New Orleans based photographer, Jennifer Shaw makes use of plastic, toy cameras in the creation of her work and in book #3 of the 11+1 Signature Series, we draw on her Nature/Nurture project. This series is an intimate study focusing on minute elements of the land, tame and wild. From the seeds of a spent rose, to a bee in the act of pollinating, these photographs depict intimate visions of plant an animal life.
Each volume in the 11+1 Signature Series project is done in an edition of only 100 books and will focus on the work of emerging as well as established photographic artists. Intimately sized, each book of 16 pages contains 11 reproductions and 1 original photographic print made in a variety of processes including traditional photogravure, gum over platinum, silver gelatin as well as modern, pigment prints. The original print is tipped in to a page of the book, but is removable for framing and display. Each book is signed and numbered by the photographer.
This book contains an original, split-toned silver gelatin print.
