As Dust Alights (vol.1) gives voice to the dreamy landscape of Nepal and Ladakh. This handmade limited-edition book documents a new chapter in V.D.'s inner life following his relocation from Havana to Nepal and marks an important evolution in his life and art practice. This moment of self-conscious discovery is articulated within the series through V.D.’s focus upon silence and colour. The series shows an alert sense of vision and a pure mystification inherent within the process of recollection. Combining realistic content with a dreamy, fictional and colorful narrative, this book captures the beauty of detail. With an alert attention to the intervals of life, it suggests a vivid sense of time and place, the here and now, reflecting all the potential within the impermanence of the existence and a strong relationship to the natural world.
Vincent Delboruck is a photographer born in Belgium in 1975. His work pushes the boundaries of documentary photography to incorporate his own narratives. Intimately tied to his personal experiences, Delbrouck's practice aims to capture his own state of mind and display the unity between mankind and nature. The resulting photographs bring us a new, almost imaginary, view of the places he photographs.
We’ve launched a new publishing arm for Third Floor Gallery, and created 25 limited edition hand stitched books titled As Dust Alights (Vol.1), all numbered and signed by Vincent Delbrouck.
