On his visit to Berlin in 2012, Michael Benari photographed Berlin’s holocaust memorial in a way that is highly personal and expressive. Working with afternoon light and 35mm film, he was able to create a mood in the photographs that is solemn and deeply moving. The images in the book convey a weighty silence and a contemplative introspection that allow the viewer to experience the commemorative site in a completely new way.
