Publisher's Description
Introducing Bobby Abrahamson's Pacific Northwest Postcards. This is
the second in an annual series of handmade, limited edition photo
books by Abrahamson (see last year's 'North Cascades Walkabout,'
selected one of Photo-Eye's 'Best Books of 2009'). This project is
actually not a book, but rather a limited edition box set of 44
handmade postcards, each with a different image recording the
artist's five years of living in and traveling around the Pacific
Northwest. The work continues Abrahamson's evocative and subjective
style of documenting the landscapes and people that he encounters on
his numerous wanderings, imbuing his images with a mood of movement,
contemplation and quiet affection. Each postcard is printed using
archival pigment ink, glued & trimmed by hand, and signed and
editioned by Abrahamson. The set comes sleeved, with its own archival
box. Only 20 box sets will be produced. On the back of each card is a
standard postcard design, with a caption describing the photograph, a
place for you to write a message, and space for your recipient's
address and a stamp. The ink is water-resistant, and the cards are
printed on a heavy card stock, so they're quite durable and ready to
brave the postal system. Or, if you prefer, you can keep them in the
box at home to enjoy!
