Photographs by Margaret Bourke-White. Text by Sean Callahan.
Bulfinch, Boston, 1998. 160 pp., 150 duotone illustrations, 9½x11¾".
As one of the original four photographers of LIFE magazine, Margaret Bourke-White's courageous photographs were instrumental in defining the style of reportage in the heyday of American picture magazines. This impressive retrospective draws from Bourke-White's personal archives, now held by Syracuse University, to present a complete portrait of the photographer's career, including many previously uncollected images.
