The artists Diana Michener and Jim Dine are
married, have lived together in Paris and New York
and Los Angeles, have photographed one another
and one another’s work, and have inspired and
collected one another’s work as well. 3 Poems
celebrates the expressive relationship between
black and white and color in their work, over
the course of 96 pages with 23 tritone prints and
22 color plates. The photographs and poems can be
read separately and collectively—the artists invite
the viewer to explore both.
