The Dutch photographer Cees Krijnen (born in
1969) has made many portraits of his mother, who
recently transformed from the victim of a brutal
divorce to a combatative, mediagenic woman. Here
Krijnen offers more intimate portraits, inspired by
Rembrandt, focusing on the painterly qualities of age.
