Photographs by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders.
238 pp., numerous color and black-and-white illustrations, 10x12¾".
Greenfield-Sanders' signature work is shot in super-large format, on the 20x24 Polaroid camera and on his antique 11x14 inch view camera. Greenfield-Sanders has been compared to everyone from Nadar and Julia Margaret Cameron to Andy Warhol, but his subtle yet unmistakable style and psychological acumne make his work unique. This book is the first large-scale monograph dedicated to the American photographer. It includes over 350 portraits and an analysis of his work by the European art ciritic Demetrio Paparoni, who has closely followed Greenfield-Sanders portraiture over the last decade.
