Le Point Du Jour, 2009. 144 pp., Color illustrations throughout, 12¼x10".
Publisher's Description
Never formally trained as a photographer, Cohen has nevertheless managed to
produce a stunning body of work that is deceptively neutral at the same time. In her
own words she describes her pictures as having ‘a cool, dispassionate edge. It
makes them seem immaculately conceived while camouflaging the all-butincomprehensible
stories they seem to convey.’ Once the viewer scratches under the
surface they realise the perturbing images expose forbidding interiors that embrace
mechanisms of control and surveillance. Some 100 full-page colour photographs, are
collected here for the first time and introduced by a short essay exploring various
aspects of Cohen’s oeuvre.
