Ndoto Tanzania Dream.
Photographs by Aernout Overbeeke.
Ludion, Antwerp, 2011. 144 pp., Color and black & white illustrations, 11½x13".
Aernout Overbeeke’s success and acclaim is as a fashion and advertising photographer, but he
has produced much of his most personal work in Tanzania photographing the Masai people,
recording a waning culture. These portraits of Africa’s remote people and animals are dominated by
big skies, threatening clouds, bloody struggle and life-affirming strength, as Overbeeke finds the
beauty in a fight for survival.
