Along the Ohio.
Photographs by Andrew Borowiec.
Johns Hopkins University Press, Baltimore, 2000. 152 pp., 80 duotones, 11¾xs8½".
Published in conjunction with the exemplary Center for American Places, Along the Ohio is just that--a tour of the cities, town, and villages that have grown up along the Ohio River. To anyone having grown up or lived in the Midwest, the familiarity of the landscape is undeniable. Borowiec's eye is unforgiving although his sense of aesthetics is highly refined, causing one to stop and reflect on the burden of man's presence in the landscape.
