Edward Weston needs little introduction to a photography-savvy audience. His groundbreaking work on the West Coast as a member of the f64 group, which included Ansel Adams and Imogen Cunningham, stands unrivalled in twentieth century photography, inspiring legions of devoted photographers. Two new books celebrate his contribution to the advancement of photography as a fine-art. A Legacy is the publication of a collection of work Weston himself selected, printed and then donated to the California Museum of Art. It is a stunning group of images from his entire career. Dune has been edited around a specific subject, and also includes the work of his eldest son, Brett, a gifted artist whose work is no less deserving of accolades than his father's. Both have been gorgeously printed and should be in every collector library.
