About the Ltd Edition
Jim Dine has been making innovative and critically acclaimed art work for more than four decades. A visual arts renaissance man, he works fluently in painting, sculpture, printing and drawing but has also nimbly engaged in performance work, musical composition, poetry, and stage and book designs. In 1996 he added photography to his catalogue of artistic languages, diving into several photographic mediums at once: heliogravure and digital ink-jet processes as well as conventional color and black-and-white printing. A set of familiar symbols pervade his work-crows, skulls, hearts and tools. This four-volume slip-cased catalogue raisonne is the first publication to survey his entire photographic output.
