Highlights from the Photography Collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Edited by Douglas Nickel.
79 duotone and color illustrations, 9x10½".
Beginning with Southworth and Hawes and ending with Richard Prince, this finely printed exhibition catalogue presents the curatorial tastes of the San Francisco MoMA as they have evolved in sixty-five years of collecting. The sequencing and selection present an excellent overview of photography through history, including lesser-known but beautiful pieces by Robert Frank, Frederick H. Evans, and Mathew Brady.
