Photographs by Mike Disfarmer.
Twin Palms, Santa Fe, 2000. 212 pp., 200 four color black-and-white illustrations, 7x10".

Now in its second edition. During the 1930s and 1940s, in Heber Springs, Arkansas, a photographer known simply as Disfarmer created a truly unique record of American rural life. The photographs are distinctive in that they portray an innocence and close-knit sense of community that has long since vanished in America. Families, relatives, friends, and lovers are all pictured here, in a post-Depression era vision of small-town life. Read Publisher's Description.
