Utilizing 19th century anonymous photographs and present-day portraits, married through a range of effective techniques and manipulations, Robert Flynt has produces alluring, subtle color photographs that speak on an emotional, even spiritual level. This intriguing little book, his most recent, is divided into 12 chapters, or months, and numbered lines represent the days of the month. The intent of the blank lines is not immediately obvious, but upon speaking with the artist he confirmed that the idea of a 'birth and death date book' was part of the overall conception. No matter how it is ultimately used (or simply enjoyed) is inconsequential for the work itself speaks abundantly.
