Photographs by Bruce Haley.
Siletz, 2003. Unpaged, 13 quadtone illustrations, 16

About the Limited Edition
Haley's career began as a war-photographer in the late 1980s, landing on the team at the Black Star agency after proving his mettle in Afghanistan photographing the mujahedeen resistance to Soviet occupation. In the late 90s, he spent months on end traipsing through Eastern Europe. His subsequent discovery of mostly abandoned communist-era industrial sites in Romania led to what has become a long-term project. For the past three years he has been photographing the legacy of a heady 20th century industrialism-pollution and contamination of the natural landscape on a massive scale. This superbly printed and ingeniously designed portfolio of 13 quadtone plates is limited to only 500 signed copies.
