'' Landscape Fragments.
Photographs by Irene Imfeld.
Oakland, 1997. Unpaged, 72 color illustrations, 7¼x16".

Publisher's Description
I have always been inspired by traditional landscape painting and photography. An image of wilderness has the power to take me away from my day-to-day experience of hectic and visually cluttered surroundings. I see a truth in the landscape more elemental than that expressed through works of humanity. The edition is limited to ten books and two artist proof sets. It takes the form of a traditional Tibetan book with unbound, horizontal leaves allowing each of the 24 triptych images to be seen separately. Landscape Fragments won First Prize, Best of Show, in the Biennial Artists' Books Juried Exhibition at the Athenaeum Music and Arts Library, La Jolla, in 1998. The juror was Marcia Reed, Curator of Rare Books at the J. Paul Getty Museum.
