In 2006, a group of 200 jurors selected Hiroshi Watanabe, Sage Sohier, and Louie Palu for PhotoLucida's Critical Mass Book Award.
Louie Palu's book documents the life and death in the hard rock mining belt. The photographs are from 12 years of documentary research conducted in NE Ontario & NE Quebec from 1991-2003.
