Publisher's Description
At night, urban topography is left to its own devices. It is the unlit stage of an enigmatic opera, the abandoned decor of a monumental play from which the actors have been banished. Night is a moment prolonged over several hours, but freed for the weight of minutes, of the passage of time. Everything seems contained within a temporary halt. This distance form the usual tumult deserves to be experienced. Everything is still. The stage and its spectators seem to be intimately joined until the first glimmers of morning, when the rhythmic coming and going of civilization reestablishes its domain.
