I Like Nsima and Fish.
By Nicola Carpi and Martin Schaer.
Edition Patrick Frey, 2013. 420 pp., 177 color illustrations, 7½x10¼".

Publisher's Description
Like Nsima and Fish is a collection of portrait photographs of twenty teenagers from Malawi, who - on the suggestion of Martin Schaer - photographed themselves, their surroundings and daily lives with an analogue camera in 2001. Eight years later Nicola Carpi and Martin Schaer again visited the teenagers - by now adults - to see what had become of them. The result is a book of photographs accompanied by texts in which the people portrayed write about their lives and expectations for the future. I Like Nsima and Fish is twenty African faces providing a glimpse into a world whose differences also reveal parallels to the West.
