Publisher's Description

A Place Both Wonderful and Strange is a photographic anthology published by Fuego Books that brings together the work of 12 international photographers in a narration inspired by Twin Peaks and the work of David Lynch.

This new book is our most ambitious project yet. It reflects our belief that popular culture and contemporary photography can be united and, although it may seem that the television, the walls of a gallery or museum, or the pages of a book are very different worlds, we would like to show that they can be closely related....We think that the best contemporary photography is a lot like Twin Peaks: it shows us a reality but it alludes to something deeper, it requires the active participation of the viewer and, with simple elements, creates an infinite world. After so many years of admiration, the idea of ??putting together our two passions in one book was irresistible and, knowing that Twin Peaks and Lynchian meant different things to everyone, we thought the anthology format was the best way to add some mysteries and unique visions to this classic and influential universe.

Divided into 12 individual chapters of 16 pages, with a total of 137 photographs, the book presents pictures at once wonderful and strange, beautiful and terrifying. We did not want to make a collection of images remaking the iconic shots of the work of David Lynch, but to use Lynch as a source of inspiration to create new visions related to his work.

We are pleased to have twelve authors from six different countries, with very different backgrounds and ways of seeing. A mixture of emerging and recognized artists who have accepted the challenge of focusing their sights on this universe through their own personality as creators.
