Hutterite
Photographs and text by Kristin Capp.
Edition Stemmle, Zurich, 1998. 144 pp., 100+ duotone illustrations, 13½x13½".

Named one of the best books of 1998 by Andy Grundberg, Hutterite is a classic style documentary of America's remaining communal people. Tracing their origins to the Zurich Reformation, the Hutterites fled the religious intolerance of Europe in the Sixteenth Century and settled throughout North America, where today they preserve the traditions established by their forbearers four hundred years ago.
