Publisher's Description
Andre Thijssen takes photos of images that most people in everyday life unnotice. Everyday situations made remarkable by the way he looks at them. Thijssen literally looks over the surrounding reality providing images that he calls Fringe Phenomena. Intriguing because the subjects are often not immediately revealed. The photographs challenge our sense of perception and forces us to take a better look at our surroundings.
Photography by Andre Thijssen have been published in many publications worldwide. For the first time they are brought together in this double publication. Erik Kessels has developed a selection of unique and previously unpublished photographs from the archives of Thijssen in book 1. Book 2 was edited by Thijssen himself.
Fringe Phenomena calls attention to the richness of that which is usually somewhere in the corners of our eyes.
