Ferit Kuyas: Two Portfolios Opening Today
"My photographs of architecture, cityscapes, landscapes and people are very constructive in view. Reducing the subject matter to the minimum, I try to capture the essence of it... A strongly felt sense of aesthetics is my guideline. I like to compose pictures in a well-organized way. At the age of 16 I got my first camera from my dad. Studying architecture and law and holding a degree in law could not keep me from becoming a dedicated fine-art photographer.

Carlos Diaz: Invented Landscapes
Fact merges with fantasy in Carlos Diaz's Invented Landscapes. On exhibition in our Santa Fe Gallery beginning June 7, 2002, these whimsical and intricate collages fuse the instruments of the Industrial Revolution with the machines of play. Diaz collages his gelatin silver prints of Coney Island with 19th-century steel plate engravings, creating unique images that contrast the realities of labor and responsibility with the pleasures of abandonment. For further information please e-mail Wendy Lewis, Gallery Director.

Margaret Bourke-White: Twenty Parachutes Margaret Bourke-White: Twenty Parachutes
When Life magazine first formed in 1936, Bourke-White was one of the four original staff members. It was her photograph that graced the cover of their premier issue. In March of the following year there was a cover story entitled "Parachutes." On assignment for Life, Bourke-White photographed the Irving Air Chute Company in Buffalo, New York, the world's largest manufacturer of parachutes. These images were never published, but they have survived as exquisite vintage prints. They are now available to a larger audience in this lovely new Nazraeli monograph.

Sheila Metzner: Form and Fashion Sheila Metzner: Form and Fashion
Culled from the past twenty years, and drawing on both her fashion and subtle, erotic nudes, Form and Fashion is a fine exposé on Metzner's work. Of particular note are her images printed using the 'Fresson' process in which up to seven different pigments are used to produce some of the richest and most painterly of color photographs.
