Nathan Lyons is well-known to the photography community as an artist, curator, and beloved educator, having served as associate director and curator of photography at the George Eastman House and Director of the Visual Studies Workshop. His personal response to the tragedy of September 11, 2001 was to make photographs. He travelled extensively around the country, creating a poignant portrait of a nation at once angry and bewildered.
