Stella Johnson's portfolio Carribean Coast, Nicaragua
"This body of work was photographed over a six week period in early 2003 on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua in both a Miskito Indian village and a Garifuna village. It is part of a larger body of documentary work I have photographed over the years in villages in Mexico and in Cameroon, West Africa."—Stella Johnson

Mona Kuhn
Mona Kuhn expands upon the traditional subject of the human form. Using restrained depth of field, subtle tonal range, and selective focus, she captures the warm intimacy of her subjects while creating tension between natural gestures and their relationship to the defined photographic edge. Kuhn’s work can be found in numerous collections, including the Schwartz Contemporary Art Collection in Berlin, Germany; the Sir Elton John Fine Art Photography Collection; and the Buhl Foundation, New York.

Lee Friedlander: Stems
This extraordinary look at plant stems was completed in 1998 while Friedlander was recovering from having both of his knees replaced. The book's printing uses a special drytrap process that exquisitely renders the images. READ MORE

Nathan Lyons: After 9/11
Nathan Lyons: After 9/11
Nathan Lyons is well-known to the photography community as an artist, curator, and beloved educator, having served as associate director and curator of photography at the George Eastman House and Director of the Visual Studies Workshop. His personal response to the tragedy of September 11, 2001 was to make photographs. He travelled extensively around the country, creating a poignant portrait of a nation at once angry and bewildered. The marvellous collection continues in the tradition of Winogrand's 1964 and Robert Frank's The Americans. Lyons' visual examination of how the flag was displayed is stunning in its variety. Aaron Rose
"Virtually unknown, and working in isolation for years, Aaron Rose quietly slid into the attention of the photography community in 1997, when 5 of his prints were exhibited at the Whitney Biennial. A consummate craftsman, building his own cameras and mixing complex developers using exotic metals, Rose's vision of the world around him is remarkably unique. This first monograph is handsomely printed in quadratone and sure to be a welcome introduction to this elusive figure."—the publisher READ MORE
