Siri Kaur's portfolio Strangers
I take photographs of strangers. They are people unknown to me, whose lives I briefly investigate through the act of photography. The strangers select themselves by responding to notices I post around town or online, announcing that I need subjects for portraits. The fact that these individuals are from outside my sphere of existence is essential. Giving me permission to enter their lives satisfies a deep-seated curiosity I have nurtured for years. |

| Sashin yo Sayonara (Bye Bye Photography, Dear) by Daido Moriyama.
A landmark of postwar photography! A nice copy of a fragile book.
Bye Bye Photography, Dear pushes photographic intentionality to its breaking point," writes David Levi Strauss in The Book of 101 Books. "Is there to be found anywhere else in the history of photographic bookmaking such a raw cry as this?"

Joseph Mills: The Loves of the Poets—Signed
"With the photomontages, Mills uses techniques to convince us that the surreal is real. Ordinary daily rituals are suddenly transfigured by our worst fears. Reality is out of control. Fears that we usually suppress may not be baseless. . . . the (images) exist on the edge of horror and beauty.—Anne Wilkes Tucker

Sophie Calle: Appointment
"Appointment features fragments from the Sophie Calle's own fascinating life story, characteristic texts that reveal intimate secrets and unravel some of the artists's childhood memories as well as her adult relationship. Calle's references to certain mementos and the emotionally charged events with which they are associated have many parallels to Freud's own psychoanalytic theories and his passion for collecting. A short afterword by James Putnam addresses the impetus for the project as well as the numerous connections he sees between Freud's home and Calle's work."—the publisher READ MORE

David Marrus: Pages from My Album—Signed
Contrasting the austere wilderness of the fabled Orkney and Shetland islands of the North Sea with the verdant and welcoming northern reaches of the Scottish mainland, these panoramic plates by photographer David Marrus deliver both profound and humourous observations on life in these fabled climes. The elegant dimensions of the panoramic prints and the expansive tonal range provide a strong technical anchor for the book, while the images themselves reveal a sensitive eye coupled with strong compositional sense. With the clear, uncluttered design of the book itself, this is a strong debut.
