Derek Mohr's portfolio Roots II
"Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."—Derek Mohr |

| On the Block: Robert Frank, Lines of My Hand Lines of My Hand has been published in three rather different versions; this one, a lavish production designed by Kohei Sugiura and published in an edition of 1000, is by far the most sought after. As Parr and Badger write, "Everything [Frank] does is a diary, a confession." The books retrospective tone is summed up in Frank's opening lines contained in the 1989 edition:
"I am looking back into a world now gone forever. Thinking of a time that will never return. A book of photographs is looking back at me. Twenty-five years of looking for the right road. Post cards from everywhere. If there are any answers I have lost them."

Alec Soth: Niagara—Signed
"Alec Soth turns his eye to another iconic body of water, Niagara
Falls. And as with his photographs of the Mississippi, these images are less
about natural wonder than human desire. "I went to Niagara for the same
reason as the honeymooners and suicide jumpers," says Soth, "the relentless
thunder of the Falls just calls for big passion."—the publisher

Ed Ruscha: Photographer
"Whether he likes it or not, the small albums of plainly-shot, snapshot-sized
images he produced in the 1960s and 70s, including Twenty-Six Gasoline
Stations, intrigued his contemporaries and earned him an unshakable
reputation. Ed Ruscha, Photographer departs from earlier collections to explore how these images—and all of Ruscha's work in disciplines including painting, drawing,
printmaking and photography—are guided and shaped by a single vision."—the publisher

Bernhard Fuchs: Portrait Photographs
When Austrian-born photographer Bernhard Fuchs shoots a portrait, the landscape is as important as the face. His portrayals of people from his native village, Mühlviertel, show them in places where they have deep roots. When the subjects live in cities, the photos express the rootless quality of urban life, with open doors and blank walls providing backdrops. Accompanying text by renowned photojournalist Timm Starl.

Things As They Are: Photojournalism in Context Since 1955.
Things As They Are is an attempt to understand the ways
that photojournalism has changed, and changed our
minds, over the last fifty years. Though the book starts
with a brief history of the dawn of illustrated magazines,
the bulk of the material is devoted to the Golden Age of
institutions like Life, Look, the (London) Sunday Times
Magazine, Stern and many others.
