Robert Adams: Still Lives at Manzanita
"There is no first, or last, in Forever - It is Centre, there, all the time"—Emily Dickinson, as quoted in Robert Adams' Introduction
Robert Adams is a prolific photographer who has graced us with many titles, most recently Still Lives at Manzanita from Nazraeli Press, Interiors 1973-74, and A Portrait in Landscapes, which is now in it's second printing.
Other titles by Adams include Turning Back: A Photographic Journal of Re-Exploration published to coincide with the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and Listening to the River; Seasons in the American West by Aperture.
Before he took on photography, Robert Adams was a professor of English. He has written several essays on the issues facing "straight" photography. These include Why People Photograph, Along Some Rivers, and Beauty in Photography; Essays in Defense of Traditional Values. READ MORE
