Laurie Tumer's portfolio Glowing Evidence

Santa Fe photographer Laurie Tumer works with techniques developed by the environmental scientist Richard Fenske that use fluorescent tracer dyes, UV light, and a camera to show the omnipresence and danger of chemicals in our lives. She took innocent images from the everyday— children's booties, a can of Coke, or flowers, and revealed how easily noxious pesticides can infiltrate the most intimate places in the home. Her exhibit is called Glowing Evidence.

"This series of photographs is about relationships; the connections and distances between us. Throughout the series, families, friends, sometimes an individual, pose for my camera. I try to find a way to explain how we feel."—Lydia Panas

Bill Brandt: Perspective of Nudes (in scarce dust jacket!) Bill Brandt: Perspective of Nudes (in scarce dust jacket!)
A book that looks back to Kertész's Distortions and forward to the psychedelia of the late 60s. As Vince Aletti writes in The Book of 101 Books, Brandt "conjure[d] a dream world of skewed perspectives in which his nude female subjects appeared to float unanchored or loom like giants."
