Mark Klett's portfolio Saguaro Portraits currently in photo-eye Gallery
"I view the photographs as cactus portraits. Since the earliest human habitation in the desert indigenous people have seen themselves reflected in the form and life cycle of the saguaro. They have been considered the souls of lost ancestors. I think they are a mirror of our contemporaries as well." - Mark Klett

Mark Klett: Saguaros - Signed, Limited, and Deluxe Edition Mark Klett: Saguaros - Signed, Limited, and Deluxe Edition
"Mark Klett has been photographing the deserts of the American West, in particular the beauties of the Sonoran landscape-a desert that sprawls across southern Arizona and northern Mexico. Along with coyotes and tumbleweeds, saguaro cacti are one of the most recognizable (and stereotypical) features of this region. Klett's portraits of these giant desert plants are straightforward and frontal."—the publisher

Kineo Kuwabara: Tokyo Days (SIGNED!) Kineo Kuwabara: Tokyo Days (SIGNED!)
Kuwabara is one of Japan's consummate street photographers. Born in 1913, Kuwabara was also the first magazine editor to publish the work of a young Nobuyoshi Araki in 1964. These pictures, mostly from the 70s, have the humanist feel of Cartier-Bresson and Doisneau, though perhaps a bit more detached from their subjects.
Bids shown below are current as of 5:57 pm MT, 11.07.2007

Due December. Preorder now.

"I often feel beside myself in the wintertime, and I try to go to warmer and lighter places. But the last couple of years I have traveled into the winter and darkness instead—into areas, conditions and encounters in which I don't really know where the outer and inner begin. And even less where they end."—Lars Tunbjork

"After the book Land of Milk and Honey, the second substantial photo-cycle of the young Austrian photographer Paul Kranzler is published.

Tom is a photo-reportage over the domestic circumstances of a young man reaching puberty. Tom lives in a small village in the countryside in Upper-Austria. Although thought to be out-of-print, copies of this Scalo book have surfaced and will be released soon at a reduced price, pre-order now.

"The suburban homes, on one hand mundane as ever with family snapshots and sectional couches, become loaded cultural symbols as a background where adult fantasies are played out. Sultan interrogates why suburbia serves as the setting for pornography and whether porn's obvious artifice is so much different than the social fantasies of home and security."—the publisher READ MORE
