Announcing the beginning of a new era, photo-eye Magazine online!
We're excited to announce that photo-eye Magazine is moving to our website! Later this spring you will be able to access the same great content that was the hallmark of our printed magazine by visiting our website, photoeye.com. Publishing the magazine online allows us to provide our readers with more timely and expanded content with no space restrictions. We'll be able to reach a much larger audience as the magazine will be available free-of-charge.

Darius Himes moves on
Our magazine's editor Darius Himes has left his position at photo-eye to focus on his new publishing company, Radius Books (www.radiusbooks.com), of which he is a founding member. Darius did an extraordinary job in producing a unique and beautiful world-class publication devoted to photography books. During his ten year tenure at photo-eye, Darius was instrumental in transitioning our mailorder catalogue into a widely admired and read periodical. We wish him much success in his new venture. Rixon Reed, director and founder of photo-eye is now the online magazine's executive editor. Our book division's assistant manager, Daniel Espeset is now our magazine's managing editor.

To our subscribers

The final print issue of photo-eye Magazine was the Winter 2007 issue with Lisa Robinson's Snowbound picture on the cover. Within the next few days, each of our subscribers will receive a letter providing details about any unfulfilled issues. If, after receiving your letter, you still have questions about your subscription or the online magazine, please email Daniel Espeset, or call him at 505.988.5152 x113,
Tues-Sat 10-5 pm (Mountain Standard Time).

"West of Last Chance is a unique collaboration between celebrated photographer Peter Brown and award-winning author Kent Haruf. The result is a profound visual/verbal dialogue of short prose pieces and large-format color images that brings to life this sometimes brutal and incredibly beautiful part of the country. Brown and Haruf were awarded the Dorothea Lange-Paul Taylor Prize by the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University for this project in 2005."—the publisher READ MORE

Burtynsky: Quarries
Edward Burtynsky: China Edward Burtynsky: China—Signed

Now in its second printing! Limited signed copies available in late March.

Burtynsky's earlier book, Manufactured Landscapes (2003), put process before place. His images of shipbreaking, quarries and monumental piles of discarded objects reflected an almost abstract fascination with the sources and aftereffects of the modern material world. One could imagine the photographer casting about for the grandest geometries and most telling traces of consumer appetite that could be found. All signs seem to have been pointing to China."—the publisher READ MORE
