Jim Pitts and Rita Bernstein also showing in photo-eye Gallery
A selection of photographer Rita Bernstein's images will accompany the Julie Blackmon exhibition. Bernstein's photos are made by applying silver emulsion to handmade Japanese Gampi paper. This allows her to achieve a result that is tactile and sculptural. Each is one of a kind, with its own unique qualities and imperfections.
Jim Pitts, while best known for his beautiful platinum/palladium still-life photographs, is also an accomplished painter. Starting with a 7 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch paper, he applies a variety of media including acrylic, india ink, pencil and watercolor. He frees his mind from a preconceived idea of the final painting allowing his subconscious to lead him though the process. We are pleased to host the inaugaral exhibition of many of Pitts' unique paintings.
For more information, contact Gallery Associate Directors, Anne Kelly at 505.988.5159 x 121 or Heather Prichard x 116 or email the gallery.

| Kazuo Kenmochi: Narcotic Photographic Document A penetrating look inside early 60s drug culture in Japan. Kazuo Kenmochi's Narcotic Photographic Document appears alternately as a work of straight documentary on the one hand, and the highly subjective view of an insider, on the other. Some of the imagery will seem familiar to that seen in Larry Clark's Tulsa, which, remarkably, it predates by eight years. |

Harry Callahan: Nature
"Nature is a selection of Harry Callahan's nature studies, 12 intimately scaled prints that the artist assembled into a series in the early 1990s, herein reproduced as beautiful tipped-in plates. Over the course of a career that spanned six decades, Callahan made nature of one his foremost themes, and continually researched new ways of seeing trees, weeds, snow and surf."—the publisher READ MORE

Morten Andersen: White Nights—Signed
Rock and Rollers of every stripe - from Norwegian natives Turbonegro to rough-throated crooner Leonard Cohen to punk rock legends like Iggy Pop - populate Morten Andersen's White Nights. Shot in a gritty black-and white that emphasizes the frantic, often intentionally chaotic music of many of these bands this is the product of two decades of work, from 1980 to the late 1990s. But it's the little things that make this collection stand apart from many similar books. READ MORE

Morten Andersen: Leira—Signed
More copies arriving in three to four weeks.
"Leira is a river just outside Oslo, where the photographer was born. This project represents a 2 year photographic romance with the river, nature and the landscape around it. As such, it is something of a departure for Andersen.
The limited edition is housed in a simple white paper slipcase, signed and numbered by the artist and includes an unsigned 7x9 inch RC gelatin silver photograph of a river landscape. View photograph of a river landscape."?the publisher READ MORE
