David Goldblatt: In Boksburg (Signed!)--LOW RESERVE! David Goldblatt: In Boksburg (Signed!)--LOW RESERVE!
"When David Goldblatt, one of South Africa's most respected photographers, set out 14 years ago to document white South Africa, the place he settled on as his Middletown was Boksburg. His pictures show a people smug and secure. The races intersected only in the most formal of contacts — master-servant, employer-laborer or the patronizing relationship of well-intentioned do-gooders toward the poor natives. Goldblatt's portrayal of all this was so cruelly honest that his book is not stocked in the Boksburg city library."—Bill Keller, "Boksburg's Goofy White Smiles," New York Times, September 19, 1993
A reprint of In Boksburg is forthcoming from Errata editions. It is #7 in their ongoing series of facsimile reprints of classic photobooks.

First Wednesday Photography Salon on March 3, 2010
Artists presenting: College of Santa Fe Students Micaela Butts, Matthew Morrow, Bobby-David Mitchell, Jared Pitts and Cliff Shapiro

First Wednesday's March Salon will be held on March 3rd, 2010, with the opening reception starting at 6:30pm and the salon running from 6:45pm to 9pm This month's Salon will be guest hosted by Fraction's David Bram and will feature presentations by a few of the College of Santa Fe's Fine Art Photography Program students: Micaela Butts, Matthew Morrow, Bobby-David Mitchell, Jared Pitts and Cliff Shapiro. The program for the evening will begin with each student making brief presentation of his or her work and finish with an open portfolio presentation where the audience can walk around, view the work of each student and interact with the photographers individually. We hope this evening will help introduce the students of CSF and their program to a larger audience and allow those students the opportunity to speak about their work outside of the campus.
