A Collectible Book by Danny Lyon
|
|
 |
Danny Lyon: I Like to Eat Right on the Dirt—Signed
This unusual spiralbound book is a youthful account of a journey back into time. Produced as though a snapshot album, it combines family photographs taken by Lyon's ancestors in czarist Russia and pre-World War II Germany with his own photographs of his children. The book's premise is that the children receive a space-time machine as a gift and go off into the past. There they relive years of previous adventures through their family's old photographs. Includes many pictures taken by Lyon over the course of a decade, as well as text and poetry inspired by his children.
Signed copies of this collectible book will be arriving soon in as-new condition. Selling for as high as $300 online. READ MORE

| Nobuyuki Wakabayashi: Adam and Eve (SIGNED) Wakabayashi's trippy, out-of-this-world interpretation of the Book of Genesis. Cited in Alessandro Bertolotti, The Books of Nudes, the volume is an astonishing synthesis of the blurry, rough, high-contrast aesthetic of the Provoke photographers and psychedelic-erotic' approach that borders on kitsch while still retaining a darkly weird and mystical undercurrent. Highly recommended!

My Wild Places by Luca Campigotto"Luca Campigotto's landscape photographs initially entice the viewer with a technically brilliant description of the desolate. Each photograph is pristine and concise in its representation of the landscape, but most lack any defining characteristic that would reveal its exact whereabouts, reinforcing the concept of a homogenous geography." — from the review by Daniel W. Coburn of Luca Campigotto's My Wild Places

from the books Von Ferne $ Magico
|
Von Ferne & Magico by Andreas Trogisch"Von Ferne is the first of an eventual six volumes of black and white photographs by Andreas Trogisch, a German graphic designer and photographer. Von Ferne means From Afar and consists of 30 pictures of black and white pictures taken in Eastern Europe in the 1980s. The second book, Magico is as beautiful in design as its partner-book but instead of 31 pictures there are 28 with two blank pages at the back. The motifs of street debris dominate the book, but this time there is a more global feel to the pictures. Stairways, mannequins, harsh shadows of tufted palms and a breeze block wall make up the visual vocabulary and texture of the early part of the book. A man in a Stetson closes his hands around something on a night-dark street, a pair of severed pigeon wings line a tram rail, evidence of roadkill recently past, and ladders, more mannequins and a final shadow of the photographer complete the picture. " — from the review by Colin Pantall of Andreas Trogisch's Von Ferne & Magico

Michael Kenna: Images of the Seventh Day
"A beautifully designed monograph surveying the works of the highly acclaimed contemporary photographer. Kenna's photographs captivate viewers through their silent drama and magnetism: rather than being accurate descriptions of a place, the photographer seems interested in capturing the invisible lines which enclose space, and in so doing arousing a viewer's imagination and reverie. This catalog showcases 290 black-and-white photographs: 200 trace the artist's career, from early 1970s images shot in England, to the photographs of the following three decades, which result from travels and commissions in every continent throughout the world; 35 record Venice's everlasting appeal; 20 reflect one of Kenna's most important jobs, that of recording the Nazi concentration and extermination camps." — the publisher READ MORE
