The Silk Road
Coinciding with the Smithsonian's Folklife Festival celebration of the ancient Silk Road trading route, the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery will present an exhibition of 25 large format platinum prints by the renowned New York photographer Kenro Izu.

Robert Frank and American Politics
In 1984, Robert Frank was commissioned by Harold Hayes, editor of California magazine, to photograph the Democratic National Convention held that year in San Francisco. Some of those photographs, along with Frank's work done in the 1950s, were purchased by the Akron Art Museum in 1985. This catalogue reproduces the entire body of sixteen photographs purchased by the museum.
