Just arrived at our warehouse, Sweet Home Yokosuka
by Miyako Ishiuchi, published by PPP Editions in concert with a recent exhibition at the Andrew Roth gallery in New York. Ishiuchi is most prominently known in the west for her acclaimed exhibition "Mother" at the 2005 Venice Biennale, but the artist had begun addressing similar themes in her earliest published works Apartment (1978), Yokosuka Story (1979) and Endless Nights (1981). It is these earliest works which have been collected into a complex and subtle trilogy for this volume, a portrait of her hometown Yokosuka, primarily concerned with the interior and exterior of dwellings. Copies now in stock.
Also just arrived at our warehouse, America by Car
by the legendary Lee Friedlander, jointly published by D.A.P. & Fraenkel Gallery. Here, Friedlander presents his take on that most Odyssean of American narratives, the road trip. However, Friedlander's entire body of work hangs on a literal nail, not just America by
Car, but America through
Car. The interior landscapes of countless anonymous rental cars become a foreground of complex intersecting panels, contextualizing beautiful, bizarre and iconic sights of the American road in Friedlander's unique compositional rhythm. Published in both a trade edition, and larger limited edition. Copies of the trade are now in stock, limited edition available for preorder.
