While in graduate school, I became inspired by the Italian Renaissance and tried to work photographically with their visual ideas.

I became aware of several early northern European painters, such as, Frans Hals who continue to inspire me.

Throughout the 90's, I participated in, and was inspired by, activities and workshops sponsored by the Center for Photography at Woodstock, NY
