This group of photos is a continuation of my multi-year photography project, Solitude, that involves manufactured objects found in nature.
Many of the objects in these photographs are decaying back into Nature, or becoming engulfed by it. Others seem puny, insignificant, lost, or out of place — isolated as they are in a vast and impersonal context. Still others, by virtue of their significance, seem to dominate their surroundings.
This interplay between the object and its field, and all its implications — nurture, terror, indifference, communion, engulfment, dominance — describe my multifaceted relationship with nature. This photography project is an exploration of that relationship.
