Ed Grazda first showed me The Americans while we were students at RISD.

Here’s a picture I took of Robert in 1979, plus or minus. He is holding a print I had received from a friend, Rob Postel. Rob had just gotten married in Reno and had asked the justice of the peace to take their picture posing like the picture from The Americans of a young newly wed couple. The justice of the peace said that was funny because just a few weeks earlier, some guy had come through and gotten married and asked him to take their picture just like a picture he had taken back in the '50s. It had been Robert and June. In his other hand is the movie camera he had used in the filming of Cocksucker Blues.
