Art for Obama

posted on September 25, 2008 at 4:00 PM MT, by Daniel Espeset

This has been all over the photo-blogosphere the last few days, but in case you haven't heard about it yet make sure to take a look. It's a pretty extraordinary event, especially considering that I understand it was organized in an incredibly short period of time. It should surprise no one that the vast majority of people in the contemporary photography world have this particular political leaning:

Art for Obama is an online auction of photographs to benefit the Obama campaign. The whole thing was put together by photographers Ahndraya Parlato, Elizabeth Moy, Gregory Halpern, Whitney Hubbs and Dru Donovan. It's slated to run for 1 week and bidding begins October 1st, so get ready — the list of artists who've donated work is pretty spectacular:

Who Is Bob?

posted on August 7, 2008 at 10:30 AM MT, by Bob

Bob is the acronym (and personality) we use for Best of Blogs. However, these selections of blog listings are not meant to be the penultimate curatorial choice of exemplary blog writings. Instead Bob is simply a way for us to easily categorize our more casual selection of what we find interesting from other people's photography blogs. Bob then is responsible for posts covering the goings on of the greater photographic blogosphere. You can think of these selections as something of a digest: links to blogs and articles from around the internet that the photo-eye staff has found particularly interesting, disturbing, noteworthy, funny, exciting and/or otherwise worthwhile. We hope you enjoy them!

If you know of a post or article of particular interest and want to let Bob know, you can direct your email to bob@photoeye.com.
