"North Cascades Walkabout" is the first title in a series of limited edition, handmade photo books by photographer Bobby Abrahamson (previous books include Photoeye bestseller "One Summer Across America." This very limited edition book (only 20 copies will be produced) is printed, trimmed and sewn by the author, and features archival reproductions of 26 Polaroids shot during a week of travel in the North Cascades region of Oregon and Washington during the summer of 2008. Abrahamson shot nearly 140 Polaroids during the trip, frequently offering a print to his subjects in exchange for their permission to be photographed. The resulting images present a rich and warmhearted look at the various people and landscapes Abrahamson encountered during his wanderings. Each copy is signed and editioned (out of 20) by the author, and includes handwritten captions opposite the photographs. Each book is an intimate, hand-crafted work of art.
