Marco Delogu was born in Rome, Italy in 1960.
His research used to focus on portraits of groups of people who shared common experiences and languages. In recent years the main focus of his work has been nature, and hence his attention has shifted, in various manners, from man to his surroundings.
Delogu has published over twenty books, and has held exhibitions in Italy and abroad in many art galleries and museums including: Accademia di Francia, Villa Medici, Rome; Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome; the Warburg Institute, London; the Henry Moore Foundation, Leeds; IRCAM, Centre George Pompidou, Paris; the MuseƩ de l'Elysee, Lausanne; PhotoMuseum, Moscow; Musei Capitolini, Rome.
A celebrated photographer, Delogu is also a publisher and exhibition curator. In 2002 he founded FotoGrafia - the first international festival of photography in Rome, of which he has been the art director, and in 2003 he founded the publishing house Punctum. Delogu has curated more than 50 exhibitions including some of the most important figures of photography world, such as Josef Koudelka (Mercati di Traiano, Rome 2003), Sally Mann (Karsten Greve gallery, Paris 2004) Olivo Barbieri (Mercati di Traiano, Rome 2004), Don Mccullin (Mercati di Traiano, Rome 2004), Anders Petersen (Musei Capitolini, Rome 2005), Martin Parr (Musei Capitolini, Rome 2006), Graciela Iturbide (Tempio di Adriano, Rome 2007), Guy Tillim (Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome 2009), Lee Miller (Scuderie del Quirinale, Rome 2009), Tod Papageorge (MACRO, Rome 2010), and Alec Soth (MACRO, Rome 2011).
Marco Delogu is now the curator of photography at MACRO (The Contemporary Art Museum of the city of Rome)
Delogu still lives and works in Rome.
