William Klein: I Citta + I Moniali: Torino '90. Introduction by Giovanni Chiaramonte. Text by Guy Mandery. Federico Motta Editore, Milan, 1990. 176 pp. First edition. Small folio. Hardbound. Photo-illustrated dust jacket. Numerous full-page gravure reproductions. Text in Italian.

This book by Klein book was only published in Italy. Torino, being the smallest city Klein documented for a monograph, is among the most intimate of his books. It focuses heavily on the city's infatuation with soccer. The end papers are photo-illustrated crowd scenes. Anecdotally, we hear that the city of Torino had published the book to celebrate the World Cup matches being held there. They were only distributed in town, and when Italy was knocked out in the semifinals, getting only third place, they were so upset they stopped handing them out and eventually destroyed many of the remaining books.

In publisher's shrink wrap that has opened at the bottom; bumping to bottom corners (text block unaffected).
