Still Time. Photographs by Sally Mann. Aperture, New York, 1994. 80 pp. Oblong quarto. First edition. Signed on title page. Stiff illustrated wrappers. 60 four-color and duotone reproductions printed by Stinehour.

Sally Mann's controversial book of photographs of her children. The publisher states "Immediate Family is an exploration of the psyches of parents and children, probing the tears, fears, tribulations, and joys of growing up and of raising a family. . . . Mann states that the work is `about everybody's fears, as well as their memories.' Her pictures explore the eternal struggle between the child's simultaneous dependence and quest for autonomy--the holding on and the breaking away. This is the stuff of which Greek dramas are made: impatience, terror, self-discovery, self-doubt, vulnerability, pain, joy, fun. . . . ". A stunning essay is included by the poet Reynolds Price.
Also included, the exhibition catalog Still Time, which contains a wide sampling of Mann's work dating back to 1971. Includes previously unpublished work from the series Immediate Family and At Twelve, plus landscapes and color images.
