Photographs by Rosalind Fox Solomon.
MACK, London, England, 2014. 144 pp., 56 tritone illustrations, 6½x8½".

Publisher's Description

Rosalind Fox Solomon spent five months in Israel and the West Bank during 2010–11, staying in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Nahariya, Bethlehem and Jenin. Travelling by local bus along with commuter workers, she photographed Israelis, Palestinians and Africans, including Jewish teenagers at Purim, Christians at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and Ghanaian pilgrims at the Mount of Olives.

The photographs are informed by an acute sensitivity to lives conditioned by origin, race and religion, ethnicity and location. Interspersed between the images are quoted fragments of background conversations – short texts which give immediate insight to lives conditioned by violence.

Please note, photo-eye has a limited number of SIGNED copies available, each with very light corner bumps--not affecting the text block.
