Publisher's Description
For the past several decades David Gibson has been photographing sequences of natural phenomena across both the United States and Japan. In this sequence of 25 images, meticulously printed on accordion-folded paper, the interplay of light and clouds produces an exquisite sequence from ever-changing atmospheric effects, simultaneously obscuring and revealing one of the most iconic volcanos on earth, Mount Fuji.
The limited edition handmade book is presented in a clamshell box. A window in the cover of the box frames the first image from the book. The front cover of the book uses a similar treatment to frame the last image from the book sequence. It is an accordion-style book that contains 25 images printed on an accordion-fold archival matte paper to form the sequence. The book is printed in an edition of 7 numbered copies with 3 artist proofs. Each print is 10" x 6⅝".
