INDIA: Fragments From the Constellation.

Photographs by David Samuel Robbins. Essay by Piers Moore Ede.
self published, 2020. In English. 128 pp., 70+ color illustrations, 14x12".

Publisher's Description

An exquisitely produced, large format compilation of Robbins' street photography from 15 of India's most culturally fascinating and visually vibrant cities.

The subject matter veers far off the tourist path, presenting gritty environmental portraits from textile factories, wrestling gyms, religious schools, pilgrim's shrines and artists' workshops.

The sensibility of the images spans fine art, documentary and ethnographic disciplines.

Robbins first monograph Himalayan Odyssey: A Visual Journey Across the Great Range was published in 2002. He is a past recipient of the Nikon USA Award For Color Photography.
