Adam Fuss: Photogram.
Photographs by Adam Fuss. Text by Eugenia Parry.
Arena Editions, Santa Fe, 1997. 128 pp., 53 four color and 10 duotone illustrations, 9x11".

Out of Print. First edition, first printing.

Known for his earlier work with pinhole cameras, this major monograph presents Adam Fuss' other lensless work: photograms. Made by placing objects in direct contact with photographic paper, photograms are the most primitive expression of the medium's capabilities. However in the work of artists like Man Ray and Moholy-Nagy, they have also been some of its most significant and meaningful. By making images in color and with a bizarre range of materials--including live snakes--Fuss has taken a giant leap forward from his predecessors, creating evocative images about the nature of photography itself.

PLEASE NOTE: Copies of Photogram are unsigned.
